At minimum, your organization's Management Information System (MIS) must be able to track information about Kiva borrowers and generate a repayment report in Kiva's required format. If your organization has an existing MIS, you may continue to use it so long as it meets the requirements described below. For a list of MIS providers, see Technical Assistance ProvidersKiva will require you to upload a screenshot of your MIS in Step 3.1 for verification before you are permitted to begin fundraising on the Kiva website.

Track Kiva Borrowers​

Your MIS must be able the track the information listed below for each Kiva borrower. Kiva will require you to upload a screenshot of your MIS for verification before you are permitted to begin fundraising on the Kiva website. If there is currently no existing client information in your MIS, please enter an example client before you upload the screenshot to the Setup Form.

  1. Loan ID

  2. Borrower's first name

  3. Borrower's last name

  4. Loan amount

  5. Disbursement Date

  6. Repayment schedule, consisting of:

    • Repayment due date

    • Principal due

    • Interest due (if applicable)

    • All other costs (e.g., fees, insurance, savings, commissions, taxes)

  7. Actual Repayments

Report Repayments

Your MIS must be able to generate a two-column CSV file to report borrower repayments:

  • Column A - Loan ID

  • Column B - Principal outstanding or cumulative principal repaid as of previous month
